There were more poodles at the Kelso Elks Saturday than you'd see at a dog show…poodle skirts, that is. Felt skirts in all colors, but predominantly in red and purple, swished and swirled as 200 members of the Red Hat Society celebrated its ninth birthday. Ladies attended from Longview, Kelso, Woodland, Portland, Scappoose, Rainier, Shelton, Yelm, Olympia, and Tacoma...click here to read more.

A bus full of ladies arrived from Kitsap County for a day of fun, food and friendship on April 25th, 2006, the anniversary of the Official Red Hat society.
The OOH's and Ahh's could be heard around the lilacs as the ladies in Red Hats wandered the paths.
Then they found the plants for sale. It was a bonus that they had the bus baggage area empty. It didn't remain that way long.
On to the tulips and more beautiful flowers to enjoy. And more shopping!
Talk about shopping. Their last stop was the local BIG DEALS store that was a red hatter's paradise with a large array of hats and pins and red hat extra's that couldn't be passed up.
It started out as an unsure adventure; a trip to the Lilac Festival and Tulip Festival in Woodland, it turned into a wonderful sight and smell adventure that the many Red Hatters from Silverdale, Wa area have definitely decided should be repeated.
Woodland is a wonderful town of blooms, water and good impressions. We had a wonderful time!
