Margaret Colf Hepola
Margaret Leona Haller Colf Hepola was born at home on the Birt family homestead in the Lewis River Valley to Albert Andrew Haller and Irene Viola Mason Haller on May 27, 1917. She has two bothers, Mel and Bob and a sister AnnaBelle. Her great-grandparents, the Andrew Jackson Birts, came to the Lewis River Valley in 1870. She has lived her entire life within a few mile of the homestead. She is an engaging writer, community activist, bookkeeper, historical preservationist, philanthropist, the mother of five, and the grandmother of nine.
